While cruise ships as a modern form entail a floating city that can be a destination of itself, ocean liners in their heyday were meant as opulent transport from one destination to another. The ship prefix RMS, commonly used for ocean liners, stands for Royal Mail Ship, a complementary purpose for the liner ships. This book explores the grandiosity of the ocean liner, including some of the most memorable such as the RMS Queen Mary, the SS Normandie, the RMS Olympic, and others. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added.
