We are in the heart of Mildura city in the Langtree Mall, close to cafes, restaurants and other local businesses.
The store was founded in the 1980s as Book City under the direction of David Quail who then sold it to Birchip-born school teacher John Bond in the mid 1990s. John continued his business under the same name until 2010 when it was taken on by the Collins franchise and became Collins Booksellers Mildura. On 30 October 2020, locally born Donata Carrazza bought the business, seeing an excellent oppportunity to combine her love of literature and her work with the Mildura Writers Festival in to the new venture.
Besides an excellent range of contemporary titles, the store stocks a broad collection of classic literature, poetry, Australian fiction and non fiction, First Nations voices, art, design, travel, graphic novels, and a curated selection of non fiction works on writing, philosophy and essays. In addition, boxed card sets, art cards, book marks, jigsaw puzzles, journals, diaries and other attractive gift ideas are also available.
We love being the only fully fledged bookshop in town offering a valuable service to our customers that includes sourcing obscure and difficult to find titles, providing up to date, quality reading and viewing material in a soothing space where everyone is welcome.
